Wild Camping

COVID19 UPDATE for Wild Camping:

Throughout the summer we are offering our wild camping areas in our beautiful woodland. Our beautiful 5 metre bell tents can be hired on our Quantock Bell and Exmoor Bell pitches, each tent can sleep a family of four comfortably. If you would rather bring your own tent to pitch up for a night or two these can be cited in our Brendon and Mendip areas, where there is plenty of space for a family tent.

Wild Camping areas are available to one household / bubble per pitch. Guests will need to bring everything they need for an enjoyable night or more stay in the woods. There are two compost toilets and covered areas. The woods are big enough to practice safe social distancing; we will provide guidelines on this upon booking.

Why not use this amazing opportunity, as it is rare not to share the woods with other/many users, to spend some quality time in the woods with loved ones in your bubble or treat someone who needs some wild nature time to a night in the woods.

The space

Fancy a night under the stars? Our 'almost' wild and 'almost' glamping experience is worth a try!

You can book for your family, a group of families or gathering of friends. We have four bell tents to hire. Our gorgeous 5 metre, unfurnished Bell Tents, will be pitched and waiting for you to arrive.

We open up our beautiful private woodland to people who wish to come and camp. We are nestled between Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills in the glorious Somerset countryside. A great way to get closer to nature, re-charge your batteries and re-wild yourselves. Just imagine sitting watching the deer pass your tent, the bats flitting about at dusk and the swoop of our resident owls, as well as lots other wildlife.

We use the woods to run a range of environmental education and play projects, we can run sessions such as camp cooking, wood crafts, splat paintball all on site, for you during your stay. Chat to us about details, availability and prices.

There is a small parking area, from here to your bell tent is a short walk through the woodland. We provide a wheelbarrow to transport your kit.

The bell tents are unfurnished so you need to bring with you what you want to be comfortable for your stay, such as bedding, torch, food and utensils. We can provide you with a suggested kit list if you would like more details.

Your reviews

What an amazing location! Can't recommend this private woodland camping enough... From the hooting owls close by overnight to the chuffing steam trains at the bottom of the adjacent field, we loved everything about our stay! The bell tent was more than big enough for our family of 4 - we're already planning another trip next year!

As a family of four we had an amazing time! We loved playing hide & seek, making fire in the camp kitchen space, exploring the numerous forest paths and loved our nights in the Exmoor Bell to wake up to amazing views. The nearby Quantock Hills offer spectacular blossoming heather and the Carew Arms a sturdy Sunday Roast. Thank you dear Louise & Iain for your hospitality!
